We had a very busy summer. We had the Texans visit and we went to the beach. After they went home, we drove to Nashville for a week to visit my family. We always have a fun time there! We hiked to a waterfall and swam and picnicked for a day, we went thrift store shopping, we made some yummy meals and just enjoyed spending time with the Corbitts. We made a super quick trip( my brother had to get back to work) to Memphis for a trip down memory lane. We drove past my Mammaw's old house and neighborhood and then drove past the house my dad grew up in and then a few houses that my parents shared after they were married. Such a neat day to let my kids see some of the things I saw growing up. The telephone pole pictures will have to be explained by my father. Apparently, he drove his car into it while in the car with my mom. Not sure what happened there, as they are tight lipped about the whole incident. ;) Always a fun time with my family! Never boring, that is for sure!!
Love,
K
This is where we used to swim until they built the pool.
The clubhouse where we had many Corbitt reunions.
Neighborhood pool where we spent many summers splashing around.
Across the street from Mammaw's.
Mammaw's old house. Many memories here.
Mammaw used to take us to Fred's. It still has the old sign.
Downtown Coldwater, Mississippi. Blink and you will miss it.
The church where my Mammaw and Dendaddy and great aunt worshipped in. I sang a few times here.
My great aunt's house downtown (and around the corner from Graceland). Her dad built it for her.
The house my dad grew up in.
My mom's house before dad. :)
The famous pole.
The church in downtown Memphis where my parents were married. It is sad to see how everything is so run down in the city.
